The night time sky is a dark, cold place.
Chilling winds rush through my very bones
And chilling thoughts rush through my head.
The sunshine has gone,
And darkness has taken it's place.
Even though the stars are out,
The feelings are strong and I cannot shake them.
The sun was warm and gave me strength,
I will surely die without it.
As they slowly twinkle to life
The stars become brighter and more radiant.
Their beauty captures me.
I look up, into the endless darkness
And see the stars shinning down upon me,
brighter and more radiant than before.
A friendly warmth protects me from the chilling winds.
Happy memories and the hope of a brighter day
keeps the chilling thoughts at bay.
The sailors and travellers of yesteryear
Looked to the stars for comfort and guidance.
I look to you.
